Each message sent from the browser passes through the smartphone; it is secure: the application encrypts it end-to-end so that no intermediary can interfere in the conversations. It is also possible to configure your account and:
Upload and change your profile picture
Setting up notifications (sounds, desktop alerts, etc.).
Blocking potential unwanted contacts.
Personalizing their conversations with wallpapers.
Applying a dark theme (to protect their eyes against blue light from screens).
Writing a little text for his bio.
The interface is fluid and easy to understand. Getting started is instantaneous for users, because the service is almost identical to the application. Users will receive notifications from the desktop device (Mac or PC) upon receipt of each new message.
What is the difference between WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop?
Although they look very similar, the WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop services should not be confused:
The former is only available through a browser.
The second is software that is downloaded from a browser and then opened on your computer (Windows or Mac).
The WhatsApp Web service is encapsulated in WhatsApp Desktop. Both are extensions of the WhatsApp application. Using this instant messaging service via a web browser has several advantages:
There is no software to download and no installation to do: once the QR code is scanned, everything is synchronized in the blink of an eye on your device.
As you can type your message with your computer keyboard, writing is faster and more comfortable.
File sharing is done with a simple drag and drop: the user experience is even better.
Since the devices are connected to each other, it is not necessary for the phone to be working to access the messages on the other devices. This is an opportunity to save a little battery on your smartphone!
It is possible, with a single account, to consult the messages received on WhatsApp on two devices. And this, even if you do not own the second device: all you need is access to a browser.
